Overview
The Hachar Law Group is seeking a meticulous and organized legal assistant to support its litigation division on administrative matters. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and possess exceptional communication skills. This role involves supporting two litigators and delivering top-notch legal services to clients. Candidates must submit a resume.
Responsibilities
- Case Management: Assist in managing and organizing litigation cases, including maintaining case files, updating databases, and tracking deadlines.
- Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients, handle inquiries, schedule appointments, and relay messages between clients and attorneys.
- Calendar Management: Maintain attorneys\' calendars, schedule court appearances, meetings, and deadlines.
- Court Filings: Prepare and file documents with courts, ensuring compliance with local rules and procedures.
- Discovery Support: Organize and manage discovery documents, including preparing document production packages.
- Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, and assisting with trial logistics.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support such as answering phones, photocopying, scanning, and filing.
Qualifications
- Language Skills: Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
- Education: Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred, but not required.
- Experience: Previous experience working as a legal assistant or in a legal support role, preferably in litigation.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and legal document formatting.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software such as document management systems and legal research databases.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and staff.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Discretion: Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all work tasks, including proofreading and editing legal documents.
Compensation
$15 - $18 hourly
