Overview
CTG is seeking to fill a Java & Web Technologies Architect opening for our client in Houston, TX.
Location:
Houston, TX Duration:
12 months
Duties:
Design, architect, and implement enterprise-grade applications leveraging Java and web technologies.
Define system architecture, technology standards, and integration approaches to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business requirements.
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to development teams.
Ensure adherence to architectural principles, coding best practices, and security standards.
Support DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and test-driven development processes.
Evaluate and recommend emerging tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance application architecture.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide robust solutions across application layers.
Skills:
Proficiency in Java, JEE, JDBC, Java Servlets, JSPs, Struts, JSF, Spring, Hibernate, EJB, JPA, JAX-RS, and JAX-WS.
Strong knowledge of Java design patterns, architectural patterns, Dependency Injection, Collections, threads, and concurrency.
Experience with SOA, Web Services, and legacy platform integration.
Familiarity with application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere) and clustering architectures.
Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
Experience:
10+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Java and web technologies.
5+ years of experience in an architectural or technical leadership role.
Proven experience designing and deploying scalable enterprise applications.
Demonstrated success in integrating modern systems with legacy platforms.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree ).
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
