JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY The School Spirit Sponsor - Drumline, leads the percussion section of the district's marching ensemble. This role provides direct instruction in percussion performance, develops and refines drumline routines, and ensures the section integrates seamlessly with the full ensemble. The sponsor supports the Head Band Director's annual rehearsal and performance plan, assists with music selection, and contributes to uniform planning that reflects the traditions, culture, and heritage of Adams 14.
REQUIREMENTS | SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in education, dance, or a related field highly preferred At least three years of successful coaching, dance, or spirit program experience KEY FUNCTIONS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Percussion Leadership & Instruction
Lead drumline rehearsals and sectionals in alignment with the Head Director's plan Teach percussion technique, rhythm precision, and ensemble coordination Create percussion parts that complement the full ensemble's performance Foster discipline, teamwork, and pride within the drumline Event Planning & Logistics
Assist in community and student engagement related to music selection Participate in uniform planning and ensure percussion attire aligns with ensemble and cultural goals Coordinate drumline equipment needs, including maintenance, transport, and storage Supervise percussion students during rehearsals, travel, and events Community & Collaboration
Work closely with the Head Director, Assistant Directors, and Flag Coach to align musical and visual elements Support full-ensemble rehearsals and integrate percussion with winds, guard, and visual teams Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families regarding expectations and schedules Eligibility & Compliance
Ensure drumline members meet eligibility standards, including physicals, registration, and fees Monitor academic standing and enforce CHSAA, district, and building-level compliance
CONDUCT, EQUITY, AND STUDENT SUPPORT The Drumline sponsor models respect, fairness, and professionalism. EVALUATION AND STIPEND DETERMINATION The site principal or designee will evaluate the fulfillment of duties at the end of the school year. Stipend determination will be based on the completion of the following responsibilities:
Practices & Performances Regular drumline rehearsals and sectionals held Percussion students met performance benchmarks
Community & Student Engagement Participation in music selection and program planning Contribution to uniform planning and preparation
Professionalism & Leadership Maintained respectful communication with staff, students, and families Supported the Head Director's annual plan effectively
Completion Level Description Stipend Determination 75-100% Most or all duties completed Full Payment 50-74% Some key duties completed Partial Payment Below 50% Minimal contribution or participation No Payment or reduced proportionally

$2,525
per year to
$3,768
per year (2025-2026), based on verified experience, qualifications and school level and aligned with the Adams 14 salary schedule. This position is temporary and days are spread across the
