Inventory Control Specialist
to join our team in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Position Summary:
The
inventory Control Specialist
is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records of raw materials, purchased components, work-in-process (WIP), and finished winches. This role ensures proper stock levels to support production schedules, reduces downtime caused by shortages, and maintains compliance with company policies and quality standards.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
:
Knowledge of Shipping processes and transactions
Data entry – Receivers, Work Order creation, Stock Movement, Closing Work Orders, etc.
Schedules and coordinates workflow within or between departments of manufacturing parts to expedite orders
Will assist in inventory control and auditing activities
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis
Ensure accurate transactions in ERP/MRP system for receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments
May assist with material transactions for winch repair and services
Monitor min/max levels, reorder points, and safety stock to prevent shortages
Record all inventory transactions accurately and timely in ERP/MRP system
Achieving project correspondence and documentation
Understanding of Lean concepts and Six Sigma tools
Physically able to move around the manufacturing shop floor to check on parts, and collaborate with supervisors
Sense of urgency to accomplish daily tasks
Effectively communicate and coordinate changes with manufacturing supervisors and purchasing personnel directly to expedite delivery schedule.
Lead and participate in continuous improvements, which impact the facility through lean and six sigma tool usage.
Exhibit leadership and innovation by staying abreast of developments in Supply Chain technology through trade publications, participation in industry group (APICS) and self-development study.
Improve current system, functions, and daily operations to more effectively meet goals
Identify opportunities to reduce waste, excess stock, and non-value-added movement
Support Kaizen and Lean initiatives for material presentation, point-of-use storage, and improved part flow
Assist in standardizing inventory procedures
Support, communicate and defend the mission, values and culture of the company
Other relevant duties.
Inventory Control Specialist Qualifications:
3-5 years of related experience .
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree .
Prior experience with MRP/ERP in multi-level bill of material structures and planning is required.
General understanding of engineering drawings and knowledge of dimensional, heat treat, and material specifications.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation are required. Self-motivated, organized, and flexible in a consistently changing and developing environment.
Team player that can build rapport with all functional areas of the facility to achieve commitments to our customers.
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of business processes and functional inter-relationships
Strong background in material and job shop workflow
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word, and SharePoint
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
10-key experience data entry experience is required
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
Experience in High Mix/Low Volume Manufacturing experience
Ability to read blueprints and part numbers
