JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The Inventory Control Group Lead will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records for raw materials, components, and finished goods to ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and production demands. This role oversees inventory activities such as stock audits, traceability, material flow, and reconciliation while ensuring alignment with AS9100 and customer requirements. The position supports manufacturing operations by ensuring the right materials are available at the right time, without surplus or shortages. performing basic manufacturing operations in which tasks are well established. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Supervise daily inventory control operations, including receiving, storage, issuing, and tracking of aerospace components and materials. Lead a team of inventory control specialists and material handlers to ensure proper material handling practices are followed. Conduct regular and systematic cycle counts and physical inventories in compliance with company standards. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Maintain full traceability of all aerospace materials per internal procedures and regulatory requirements. Work closely with production, purchasing, and quality departments to manage inventory levels and support just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing. Ensure strict adherence to inventory control policies, shelf-life monitoring, lot control, and handling of non-conforming material. Monitor and report inventory KPIs, including accuracy rates, cycle count effectiveness, inventory turns, and obsolete stock. Utilize ERP/MRP system (Intuitive) to track inventory transactions and support production planning. Support internal and external audits (customer, bank, AS9100) by providing accurate inventory records and reports, as required. Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean and 5S principles to streamline inventory processes. Strong knowledge of aerospace inventory control practices, traceability, and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with AS9100D, ISO 9001, and other aerospace quality standards. Proficient with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and part numbers. Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement. May include other duties as assigned and/or special projects. QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, or a related field preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse management in an aerospace or regulated manufacturing environment. At least 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience.
