About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SAS Data Analyst with strong expertise in analyzing legacy SAS scripts, uncovering data lineage, and translating transformation logic into actionable insights. This role requires a seasoned professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and can effectively bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret legacy SAS scripts to extract data lineage, business rules, and transformation logic.
- Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate requirements.
- Perform SQL-based data analysis to support data profiling, validation, and insights generation.
- Summarize and visualize data for clear communication of findings and recommendations.
- Conduct pre-demos to showcase findings and validate with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to ensure alignment of requirements and implementation.
- Define and document acceptance criteria for features, supporting full end-to-end testing.
- Prepare and maintain clear project documentation, including data dictionaries, process flows, and technical specifications.
- 7+ years as a Business/Data Analyst with proven experience in SAS analysis and development.
- Strong expertise in SAS programming, SQL querying, and data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience working in Agile environments with tools such as Jira and ALM.
- Familiarity with APIs and UI testing/validation.
- Excellent communication skills - able to simplify complex concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams, drive consensus, and make decisions based on data.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Prior experience in financial services or regulated industries.
- Knowledge of modern data platforms and migration projects involving legacy systems.
