Seasonal Shuttle Driver – Bronx Zoo (Temporary / Seasonal)

Department: Ride Operations | Title: Shuttle Driver | Employment Type: Temporary | Status: Non-Exempt | Grade Level: Hourly Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour | Reports To: Supervisor

Schedule: Must be able to work weekends and holidays; weekday hours also available. Hours: 9:30 am – 5:00 pm, dependent on weather and guest attendance; schedule subject to change through the spring and summer.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to guests, including maintaining general knowledge of park attractions and amenities, answering questions and creating a great guest experience in accordance with WCS standards of guest service.
• Assist guests entering and exiting the shuttle with attention to children, elderly, and disabled patrons.
• Maintain order among guests waiting to enter the shuttle and admit the appropriate number of guests in a timely manner.
• Monitor the area and communicate with guests to ensure their safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas as instructed.
• Complete other assignments and help the team as required.
• Assist as needed with event programming, events and special projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years or older
• Valid driver's license required
• Customer service orientation
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work outdoors remaining at assigned posts for long periods in a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to frequently move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Dependability and reliability
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior customer service experience; previous experience speaking in front of large groups or audiences; fluent in English; bilingual preferred (not required)
