Position Summary
This position will function to provide support to the Purchasing department.
Position Responsibilities
The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position: Participate in the MRO Cost Reduction Strategy Development and Implementation. Develop and maintain reports that show progress towards goals. Issue purchase orders for MRO items that support cost, quality and delivery goals. Cooperate with cross-function team to execute purchasing activities with suppliers and potential suppliers. Participate in cost reduction activity in cooperation with AISIN affiliated companies. Total supply chain cost analysis. Analysis of various inputs and conditions from cross-functional departments to find cost savings opportunities. Assess prospective suppliers for new model programs and localization activities. Responsible for document control for material RFQ's, LOI's, ECI's, and quotations. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, confidentiality agreements, master purchase agreements, changes in process, terms, engineering requirements, and other items as required with suppliers. Detail quotation analysis for all cost drivers. Prepare reports and presentations as necessary. Gain consensus from various manufacturing plants and recommend potential suppliers. Act as Supplier champion to AISIN and voice of AISIN to supplier. Other tasks and duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities
Essential Skills and Experience:
Purchasing management experience. Understanding of how MRO supports a manufacturing plant. Knowledge of how distribution works in the supply chain. Proficient in supplier negotiations. Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint. Problem solver. Knowledge of MRP systems. Beneficial Skills and Experience
Previous automotive MRO Purchasing experience. Understanding of commodity market trends. Working knowledge of ERP procedures/concepts Education/Training/Certifications
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or technical field is preferred. Travel Requirements
Approximately
5 - 10
%. Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs. Work Environment Requirements
