We are seeking a compassionate and skilled

Facilitator

to help lead our monthly

Descendants Talking Circle : a sacred and affirming space for American Descendants of Slavery to share, reflect, and engage in dialogue around current and historical issues impacting their community. This is a meaningful opportunity to support collective healing, honor ancestral resilience, and guide participants through intentional conversation and reflection. What You’ll Do: Facilitate a 1-hour Talking Circle once per month (via Google Meet). Prepare for the circle using our provided template (arrival, grounding ritual, ancestral reflection, dialogue, and closing affirmation). Hold space with sensitivity, truth-telling, and cultural awareness. Complete a time card each week in which work is done (including prep, meetings, and follow-up). Respond to communications within 48 hours, per our organization’s leadership response clause. Preferred Background: Experience in mental health, counseling, social work, group facilitation, or related fields. Familiarity with racial trauma, generational healing, and the historical legacy of enslavement in the U.S. Ability to create a respectful, inclusive, and grounded environment. is a monthly virtual gathering that blends ceremonial grounding, ancestral reflection, and guided discussion on themes such as: Grief Processing Identity Healing Generational Wounds Faith and Religion Mental Wellness Child/Parent Healing Relations Our circles are designed to be sacred, affirming, truth-telling, and action-oriented; honoring our past, living fully in the present, and building our future.
