Job Description:
Information Technology (IT) architects are visionaries, coaches, team leaders, business-to-technical liaisons, computer scientists, and industry experts. Architects applying for ACM Architect Designation “Professional Architect” should use the skills associated with this role when completing a Skills Development Assessment.
We are seeking a technically proficient and self-directed individual with hands-on experience in managing backup systems, virtualization platforms, and network infrastructure, preferably within the industrial operational technology (OT) environment.
Core Technical Experience Required:
1. Backup Software Platforms:
• Intermediate-level experience with Veeam and/or Acronis for backup configuration, scheduling, restoration, and troubleshooting. • Familiarity with backup strategies for OT systems, including full, incremental, and differential backups. 2. Network Attached Storage (NAS): • Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining NAS hardware devices (e.g., Synology, QNAP, enterprise-grade solutions). • Understanding of RAID configurations, storage provisioning, and performance optimization. 3. Networking Fundamentals: • Solid understanding of IP addressing and subnetting, including VLAN segmentation and routing basics. • Experience with DNS and DHCP services, including configuration and troubleshooting in static and dynamic environments. 4. Server & Hardware Configuration: • Experience in building and configuring servers (preferably Dell or similar), including BIOS/UEFI setup, OS installation, and driver/firmware management. • Ability to perform advanced configuration troubleshooting beyond basic settings, including log analysis and performance tuning. 5. Virtualization Platforms: • Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and vSphere, including virtual machine provisioning, resource allocation, and snapshot management. • Familiarity with virtual networking, storage integration, and performance monitoring in virtual environments. • Experience troubleshooting VM performance issues and managing host-level configurations. 6. Active Directory Administration: • Experience managing Active Directory (AD) environments, including user/group creation, OU structuring, and GPO implementation. • Familiarity with domain controller roles, replication, and AD-integrated DNS. • Ability to troubleshoot authentication issues, permissions, and policy conflicts.
Experience:
• Industrial OT Environment:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a petrochemical or industrial setting supporting OT systems.
• Familiarity with Honeywell DCS equipment, Cisco switches, and Dell server infrastructure is highly desirable.
• Spare Parts & Asset Management:
• Experience managing DCS hardware spare parts inventory, including tracking, procurement coordination, and lifecycle documentation.
Soft Skills & Work Style:
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision or structure.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a resourceful approach to resolving technical issues.
• Comfortable navigating complex environments and collaborating across disciplines (IT, OT, engineering).
