We are hiring for our client company, a top auto supplier, providing sealing parts to automakers and Tier 1 suppliers. The position will work with product engineering to optimize product design, make manufacturing feasible and friendly and work with product engineering and quality engineering to establish the best manufacturing process for new product launching.
This position is located near Lincolnton North Carolina.
Responsibilities
Review engineering specifications and process flows off all parts
Improves manufacturing efficiency, safety, and ergonomics by analyzing work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Design and execute engineering tests. Issues final technical reports with conclusions.
Initiate and implement engineering changes and document revisions.
Responsible for yield improvement and cost reductions projects.
Lead multiple Industrial Engineering projects with minimal oversight
Maintain plant layout and optimize/redesign process flow
Cost analysis ongoing to identify opportunities for improvement and quote new business
Maintain & Optimize BOM inside SAP
Maintain ongoing capacity analysis
Active contributor to new project launch meetings
Maintain active list of cost savings projects & lead group discussions
Lead and coordinate activities and priorities to improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and reduce LT (Lead Time) and cycle time to achieve the defined KPI’s (Quality, Cost, Delivery).
Review and update the standard process cycle time, working plan, manufacturing BOM, to ensure accurate calculations, using MTM and other standards. Optimize process bottlenecks through line balancing and waste elimination.
Ensure efficient material and information flow of WIP (Working In Progress), TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Application of Lean principles to reduce wastes, improve flow and reduce process variations.
Ensure standardized and effective shop floor documentation and supporting processes (work instructions, production parameters, first part procedures, scrap reduction activities, SMED, etc.).
Lead activities to drive the continuous improvement process and break through activities (includes the leading of respective workshops as Production layout and material flow optimizations using (VSM) Value Stream Mapping (VSD) Value Stream Design.
Support in the discussion and definition of manufacturing strategy of the company. Ensure global overview of installed and utilized equipment capacities and their optimization. Planning and rollout of MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and Industry 4.0 solutions.
Responsible for the budgetary process for all manufacturing aspects and investments in infrastructure. Involved in equipment suppliers selection and evaluation. Meet budget targets.
Facilitate manufacturing activities including DFMA (Design For Manufacturing Analysis), VE (Value Engineering) , Process FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and Capability Analysis.
Provide manufacturing technology and process according to APQP, on time, on spec, on budget.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
Minimum 5 years proven Automotive Engineering Experience
Minimum 3 years proven Automotive Dynamic Oil Seal Designing and Manufacturing Experience
Good experience in the area of engineering in the automotive sector
Knowledge of the automotive toolbox (ISO TS, IATF, APQP, FMEA, DoE, 5S, Lean, etc.)
Lean Manufacturing experience
Target oriented, pragmatic, problem solver, Self-Starter, Good communication
Strong business understanding and business-partner approach
Analytical skills and high attention to details, working knowledge of MS Office and SAP
Bi-lingual (English and Chinese)
