Job Announcement
The Fairfax County Department of Vehicle Services is responsible for the administration of all fuels and associated equipment required for the county and school fleet to operate. DVS is seeking a motivated, service-oriented, and technically skilled professional to join the logistics team to manage day-to-day activities of the fuel systems. This entry-level position plays a vital role in supporting the county's unleaded, diesel, aviation, and electric fuel systems. Under the general direction of the logistics manager, the selected candidate will perform a variety of administrative functions in the regulation, administration, inventory management and general maintenance of 55 fuel and 12 electric vehicle charging station sites across the county.
The position requires hands-on approach to inspecting fuel sites and coordinating with contractors. The selected candidate will support daily operations of the fuel program including administrative functions in procurement, management of all environmental programs and corresponding documents. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license Underground Storage Tank Operator Certification (Applicants hired must obtain an Underground Storage Tank Operator Certification within eleven months of hire date.) NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience collecting and analyzing data, and reporting. Knowledge of and experience working with fuel dispensing systems, troubleshooting techniques, and relevant technology or software. Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) to include application and interpretation of safety related regulations and procedures to maintain a clean and safe fueling area. Ability and experience to diagnose and resolve issues with fuel systems and equipment. Strong interpersonal abilities to communicate effectively and clearly with a diverse population and various stakeholders. Proficiency with technology and the ability to learn and adapt to new systems, software, Microsoft Office products and digital tools as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to operate keyboard. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
