The Role:

The Sr. Quality Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to ensure that manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards. This role involves conducting quality inspections, performing data analysis, and developing and implementing quality control plans. The Sr. Quality Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Additionally, this role involves training and mentoring quality staff and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves supporting corrective action implementation, verification of effectiveness, data analysis, analyzing trend data, identifying areas of improvement and conducting quality audits to verify adherence to both Xylem and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

Investigate quality issues via the Non-conformance Report (NCR) system

Act as NCR responsible party and Gatekeeper

Manage the monthly NCR review board

Work with the Continuous Improvement team on plant 5S goals

Assist with yearly ISO and internal quality system audits

Assist with bi-annual and quarterly regulatory audits, as required (UL, ITAR, etc.)

Engage other departments to improve quality through Kaizen and other activities

Process Improvement:

Identify areas for improvements and suggest solutions

Participate in training and development opportunities to stay updated on industry standards and best practices

Documentation:

Maintain accurate and organized records of data analysis and quality control processes

Document any finding or issues discovered during analysis of quality data

Create and update quality control charts and reports

Author and manage changes to quality management system documents

Communication:

Communicate with management recommendations to improve quality processes

Collaborate with cross functional team members to resolve discrepancies or quality issues

Provide monthly NCR summary reports and recommendations for improvement

Qualifications:

B.A./B.S. in Engineering or Science field required

Quality engineering experience of at least 5-7 years in an ISO 9001 environment

Experience in a fast-paced, multi-project manufacturing environment

Electronic Quality Management Systems (eQMS) experience is required, ETQ preferred

Experience using basic inspection tools (e.g. calipers, tape measure, thickness gauges, etc.)

Analytical, process improvement and problem-solving skills (e.g. 5 whys, 8D, DMAIC, etc.)

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

ERP system experience, SAP is preferred

Lean/Six Sigma experience, Green belt or above certification preferred

ASQ CQE Certification preferred

Certified regulatory auditor preferred (e.g., ASQ CQA or RAPS RAC)

The estimated salary range for this position is $110k to $115k.??Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.?
