Support Medical Secretary Rheumatology Department

The job holder will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the Rheumatology Department Clinical Team.
You will support Senior Medical secretaries in a range of duties related to patient pathway management, validation of data, diary management, audio transcription and word processing of clinical letters, production of reports and other correspondence as required.
Medical secretarial experience is desirable but not essential. You will have a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be able to work with staff at all levels.
With support and guidance act as a point of contact and be responsible for the dissemination of information, messages and enquiries for Clinicians, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members, other health professionals and staff within and external to the Trust.
The job holder will have involvement with Clinicians and Service Managers across the Trust to ensure that patients are treated in accordance with the Trust's policy and procedures. In particular knowledge of patient access policy and other National/local targets ie. RTT, Non RTT pathways would be an advantage.
Main duties of the job
Supports the Senior Medical Secretary in ensuring that the provision of a secretarial service within the department is both effective and efficient . Validation of patient data is also an important part of the role.

Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE standard*
- RSA III or equivalent typing/word processing
