Versar is hiring: Cybersecurity Operations Technical Lead in Washington

Seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Technical Lead to support the Small Business Administration (SBA). This position will support the management for the operation of SBAs Cyber Defense Operations Center (CDOC) and the performance of traditional SOC activities on behalf of SBA (24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year) to protect SBA information and information systems. Primary work location is the SBA Headquarters office in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the CDOC Technical SME to the division/agency on all matters related to computer network defense; is also responsible for technical direction of the CDOC.
• Lead the CDOC in technical strategies, assessments, and technology insertion to improve capabilities that provide the CDOC situational awareness of the security posture, vulnerabilities, and overall risk to the SBA Enterprise.
• Provide technical guidance for effective and efficient response to cyber incidents, and propose strategies to prevent incidents from occurring or escalating as well as overall improvement and execution of defensive activities (i.e., monitoring, detection, analysis, response, and coordination).
• Provide technical expertise, direction, and leadership across the CDOC to identify and resolve cybersecurity issues and provide technical guidance/assistance to junior members of the team.
• Identify Cyber technology investment opportunities strengthening SBA Enterprise defensive capabilities & operational/tactical effectiveness. Produce technology plans, roadmaps, and schedules for information security and assurance capabilities and their transition.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Cybersecurity or related fields - equivalent work experience acceptable.
• Proven experience managing and/or leading successful local and remote teams in an operational environment.
• Proven experience and the ability to interact authoritatively with a diverse group of senior executives, managers, and subject matter authorities.
• Ability to navigate and work effectively across complex, geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
• 8+ years experience implementing, tuning, maintaining and operating security operations capabilities such as Firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, NDR, A/V, Email Content Filtering, Web Content Filtering, virtual technologies, etc.
