Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
This role operates on a 4x10 schedule, working four days per week with 10-hour shifts. The position is assigned to the night production schedule from Sunday - Wednesday OR Wednesday to Saturday, 5:00pm to 3:30am PST. The work environment includes spending 75% of the time on the production floor addressing technical blockers and 25% on independent development work such as data analysis and documentation improvement.

Join the dynamic team, an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites aimed at providing low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As a First Line Support - Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for building, testing, qualifying, and producing next-generation spacecraft. You will tackle challenging manufacturing and engineering problems using innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology, providing first-line technical support to resolve production issues and improve factory throughput.
Responsibilities
Serve as the first technical point of contact for production disturbances and unblock production issues.
Find structural solutions to prevent recurrence of production issues.
Process defective material for engineering evaluation to determine the path forward.
Modify shop orders to enable continuous production execution.
Develop and improve troubleshooting documentation for production test hardware.
Essential Skills
3-8 years of experience in a relevant field.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Optical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Optics, or Optical Sciences.
Familiarity with Low Rate Manufacturing Environments and New Product Introduction.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices and principles.
Experience with Root Cause Analysis Techniques such as Fishbone, Fault Tree, and DMAIC.
Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills.
Experience with Electrical System Design and Metrology.
Experience with Mechanical Design and Failure Analysis.
Nice to Have Skills & Qualifications
Experience with SAP or similar ERP software.
Proficiency in NX Unigraphics or similar CAD software.
Experience with Aerospace and/or Optical Manufacturing.
Proficiency in Python Programming Language.
Experience with Fiber Optic Systems.
Familiarity with Statistical Analysis Software such as Minitab.
