Job Description
The
Mold Maker Apprentice
performs machine tool work, welding, brazing or bench work required in making repairs and alterations to molds, blanks, bottom plates or finish equipment. This position may also include machine tool or bench work on new mold equipment.
The Mold Maker Apprentice will:
Repair parts including sanding, welding, griding, cutting and polishing as needed
Use multiple air tools, hand tools, spray welders, CNC, lathes and torches
Inspect and measure parts after work is completed
Deliver job change mold equipment and assist with job changes
Be expected to complete the 4-year apprentice program, which includes on-the-job training and classroom time (this is outside of normal work hours)
The Mold Maker Apprentice should have:
Experience using specialized measuring devices such as micrometer and calipers
Experience reading blueprints
CNC programming skills
Welding experience
A desire to learn and grow into the Journeyman position
Qualifications: Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
2 year technical degree in tool and die making, machine technology or the like
Previous experience working in a tool and die shop is preferred
Must be able to pass the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test
Must be able to work an 8 hour, rotating shift
