Job Summary:
BridgingLife Hospice & Palliative Care, an affiliate of Carroll Hospital and LifeBridge Health, is seeking a compassionate and credentialed Jewish Chaplain (PRN) to provide spiritual support to patients, families, caregivers, and staff. This vital role supports our mission-driven , interdisciplinary team by offering spiritual counsel, resources, prayer, and sacraments as appropriate for Jewish patients and their families during end-of-life care.
The Chaplain will work collaboratively with the hospice Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) to support comprehensive, individualized care plans that align with the spiritual and emotional needs of our patients and their loved ones.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide spiritual care and support to Jewish patients and families in home, inpatient, and facility settings.

Participate in the hospice IDG meetings to offer guidance on spiritual issues and coordinate care accordingly.

Offer Jewish prayer, rituals, and sacraments in accordance with patient/family wishes.

Document all visits and interactions in the medical record accurately and promptly.

Serve as a spiritual resource and presence for patients, families, facility staff, and hospice team members.

Respect and uphold the cultural and religious diversity of all patients and families.

Provide crisis intervention and bereavement support as needed.
Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Divinity, Pastoral Counseling, or related field required .

Completion of at least four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) – preferably with experience in hospice or palliative care settings.

Ordination or Commissioning by a recognized Jewish religious body is required.

Minimum of 1 year of chaplaincy experience in a healthcare setting required; 2+ years with terminally ill patients and families preferred.

Strong documentation and interpersonal communication skills (written and oral).

Must meet Fleet Safety Requirements (valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation).

Ability to work independently with empathy, flexibility, and cultural sensitivity.
