Piper Companies is seeking a
Necropsy Training Specialist
to join a leading toxicology research organization. This is a
full-time, onsite role
located in the
Montgomery County
area. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in laboratory animal techniques and a passion for training others in a regulated research environment.
Responsibilities of the
Necropsy Training Specialist Include:
Deliver training on life and post-life procedures including restraint, dosing, sample collection, necropsy, and DART techniques. Ensure compliance with GLPs, SOPs, and protocols, train staff on proper documentation procedures. Evaluate technical skill competency during training and provide feedback. Assist in developing discipline-specific training programs and in-life training curriculum. Support operational departments in establishing training programs. Write and revise SOPs within areas of expertise. Maintain thorough documentation of training activities in accordance with company SOPs. Demonstrate clear communication and patience in a teaching environment. Participate in process improvement initiatives and assist in developing online training modules. Qualifications of the Necropsy Training Specialist Include:
Degree in life sciences (B.S., B.A., or A.A.S.) preferred; may be substituted with relevant lab experience. Minimum 2 years in a toxicology lab environment. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Provantis and basic computer applications. Skilled in animal handling, dosing, bleeding, necropsy, and DART techniques across species. Experience developing and delivering training programs, including written and oral assessments. Familiarity with teratology training, fetal data review, CT scanning, and ToxIVOS sperm analysis. Proficient in euthanasia procedures (CO₂ and sodium pentobarbital). LAT and IRFM certified (rat & rabbit; external, fixed, and fresh examinations). Compensation of the Necropsy Training Specialist Includes:
Competitive Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive Benefits: medical, dental, vision; 401k, paid time off, holidays, and professional development support.
