Job specification
Provide specialized nursing care to neonates in the NICU, including those with complex conditions such as prematurity, respiratory distress, and congenital anomalies. Monitor and assess neonates' vital signs, administer medications, and assist with treatments and procedures in collaboration with neonatologists and other healthcare professionals. Perform routine assessments, including physical exams and lab results, ensuring accurate documentation and care planning to meet the individual needs of each infant. Educate and support parents and families in the NICU regarding their newborn's care, medical conditions, and progress. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and lactation consultants, to provide coordinated and compassionate care. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control protocols, and safety standards. Respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations, utilizing advanced neonatal nursing skills and critical thinking. Candidate requirements
Active RN license in Washington. 1+ year of NICU experience preferred (new grads with a strong desire to work in NICU will be considered). BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain). Ability to work effectively under pressure and provide care in high-stress, high-acuity situations. Strong communication, collaboration, and patient advocacy skills. Ability to provide compassionate care to neonates and their families, demonstrating emotional intelligence and empathy.
