Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their OpenShift/Kubernetes Engineer position! This is a 12+ month contract opportunity and can be remote in the United States (EST working hours). This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.
Overview
A leading financial services organization is seeking an experienced OpenShift/Kubernetes Engineer to join a team responsible for managing and maintaining the firm's enterprise container platform. This individual will bring expert-level knowledge of the OpenShift/Kubernetes ecosystem and best practices for cluster deployments. A key aspect of this role involves exploring emerging technologies and providing recommendations on how to effectively integrate them. The ideal candidate will have strong technical credentials and hands-on experience in containers, networking, storage, compute, and cloud infrastructure design and implementation, along with excellent communication skills.
What You'll Be Doing: Automate the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of OpenShift clusters using custom CI/CD pipelines. Review new cluster configurations and pipelines to ensure effective and non-disruptive outcomes. Recommend and implement system upgrades and enhancements for optimal performance. Lead infrastructure automation efforts and continuous deployment in a private virtualized environment. Document newly deployed services and infrastructure; maintain and update existing documentation to reflect best practices. Collaborate with technology leadership, senior engineers, and support teams to implement scalable technical solutions. Contribute to infrastructure architecture, design, standards, and policies. Translate business and functional requirements into structured technical solutions. Provide mentorship and coaching to engineers, technicians, and integrators. Stay current with banking technologies, development environments, and financial services trends. Coordinate with vendors and manage support tickets when needed. Promote and follow industry standards and best practices. What You'll Need to Have:
A combined minimum of 8 years of higher education and/or professional experience. Strong understanding of system development, infrastructure lifecycle, systems design, and IT Service Management principles. Expert knowledge/experience with container technologies including OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Podman/Docker (build, configure, support) In-depth Linux systems expertise, including configuration and administration. Ability to write maintainable scripts in Python, Bash, or Perl. Experience with automation tools including Ansible and/or Terraform HCL. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, particularly Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO). Experience with GitOps workflows using ArgoCD to manage Kubernetes clusters at scale. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field preferred.
Pay Range:
$68-$83+/hr
