Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams. This position is onsite and reports to the Vice President of Operations.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain product quality.
- Design and maintain production tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
- Provide input for capital investments and execute new equipment implementation projects.
- Analyze production workflows and recommend process improvements using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Optimize production layout to improve flow and efficiency.
- Support new product introductions by developing and validating manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, quality, supply chain, operations) to ensure smooth production transitions.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
- Identify root causes of manufacturing issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor production metrics and lead initiatives to improve yield, throughput, and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or a High School diploma with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role (entry-level candidates may be considered for junior roles).
- Prior experience with engineered-to-order products (e.g., switchgear, switchboards, or similar products).
- Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Work Environment: This position primarily operates in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to machinery, equipment, and electrical systems. This role also requires the ability to walk significant distances throughout the facility multiple times per day, stand for extended periods, and move comfortably within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates must be able to safely navigate the production floor and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, or occasional lifting, as needed.
