Overview

Custodian Substitute position at all three schools. Openings are part-time, non-benefit. Pay is $14.00 per hour. Status shows as ongoing with an open closing date. Location: All Schools.

$14.00/hr

Qualifications

• Certificate of good health signed by a licensed physician
• Ability to read basic operating instructions
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the assigned task
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

Performance Responsibilities

• General: Clean all classrooms, corridors, storage rooms, work rooms, offices, teachers room, kitchen, cafeteria, toilet rooms daily, including sweeping, dry mopping, vacuuming and trash removal; maintain tile floors as required (stripping, sealing, finishing, washing, buffing, recoating)
• Carpeted floors: Vacuum daily, spot clean as required, shampoo at least once a year
• Toilet room floors: Wash and sanitize daily; clean and sanitize toilet fixtures daily; maintain clean walls and graffiti-free surfaces
• Dusting and washing of windows, mirrors, and woodwork; cleaning classroom sinks; minor maintenance and repairs as time allows
• Set up and take down of chairs, tables, AV equipment for functions; clean and sanitize drinking fountains daily
• Operate cleaning equipment; maintain litter-free grounds
• Safety and Security: Keep walkways and stairwells clear; cleanup spills; remove snow/sand or ice as required; maintain entryway lights
• During heating season ensure boilers are operating; lock classrooms after hours and engage security system; report maintenance or security problems to Head Custodian
• Physical requirements: Lift objects 5-60 lbs; stand/walk for extended periods (2–7.5 hours); repetitive hand motions; operate cleaning equipment
• Personal: Be punctual; maintain appropriate dress and personal hygiene; conduct oneself in a polite, friendly manner; cooperate and work as part of a team
• Other: Perform other duties as directed by Head Custodian or Facilities Director
