Overview:

Join a dedicated healthcare team in a busy outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinic located in the Southeastern regional United States. This role supports both administrative and clinical needs of physicians and licensed medical staff, ensuring patients receive compassionate and efficient care.

Key Responsibilities: Assist with obtaining patient vital signs and updating medical records accurately. Collect and process point-of-care, lab, and pathology samples following established protocols. Perform quality and safety checks on testing equipment and supplies. Provide patient education under provider guidance. Administer treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies as ordered by licensed providers. Support providers during procedures and examinations, including chaperoning and setup. Handle and prepare reusable instruments for sterilization and manage biohazard and pharmaceutical waste according to OSHA standards. Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment by adhering to infection prevention standards. Manage front desk duties such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and assisting with coding and billing processes. Coordinate with external healthcare partners to support patient care plans. Monitor electronic health record communications and respond promptly. Perform components of well visits and scheduled nursing visits as directed. Float to other clinics as needed and complete all required documentation timely. Education and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with successful certification from recognized organizations such as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Experience:

Preferred: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in an outpatient setting. Skills and Abilities:

Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations and activate emergency services. Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone. Physical ability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Comfortable with potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.
