Job Overview

Jeffrey Davis Portable Welding Fabrication LLC is seeking a motivated and certified Welding Technician to join our field operations team. This is a full-time, travel-based role involving structural welding and custom fabrication for commercial projects—primarily Walmart remodels and expansions—across the U.S. This role suits someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, values hands-on work, and enjoys life on the road.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to job sites across the U.S. to perform on-site structural welding and fabrication.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
  • Weld steel columns, beams, and custom structural components.
  • Fabricate parts in the field as needed to meet project requirements.
  • Work on high-profile commercial projects such as Walmart remodels and expansions.
  • Maintain welding equipment and follow safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Adapt to changing schedules, site conditions, and project timelines.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with general contractors and site personnel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of structural welding/fabrication experience.
  • AWS certification (required).
  • Experience reading blueprints and executing structural welds in the field.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively for projects.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in fast-changing environments with shifting project demands.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Schedule
