Welder 2

Location: La Crosse, WI

Compensation: $25+ an hour based on experience

Job Summary: A Welder 2 is responsible for fabrication and welding of frames for large industrial HVAC equipment under supervision. This role maintains quality standards, meets production goals, and adheres to the schedule. This person may train a lower-level welder as needed.

Job Duties:

• Champions safety procedures and adheres to them strictly.
• Reach out to safety representative in shop for questions.
• Escalate safety issues to Safety Supervisor as needed.
• Perform basic welding tasks under supervision.
• Caulking, squaring, cleaning, and handling plastics as part of fabrication.
• Weld to XeteX standards with supervision.
• Assist in the fabrication and welding of HVAC equipment.
• Handle tools and equipment with guidance. Includes power tools such as drills, grinders, sander.
• Maintain clean work areas and equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints with supervision.
• Maintain 3G welding certification.
• Adhere to all quality procedures.
• Assist higher-level welders and train lower-level welders as needed.
• Maintain foundational skills in HVAC welding.
• Participate actively in on-the-job-training programs.
• Actively listen to instruction from higher-level personnel.
• Communicate needs and questions clearly with leadership.
• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification or degree in welding
• Previous experience in welding
• Proficiency using hand and power tools (drills, saws, grinders)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Physical stamina and ability to perform job functions
• Physical requirements include: Standing 75%, Kneeling 25%, Crawling 20%, Climbing 20%, Lifting 25 lbs frequently, Lifting 50 lbs frequently, Lifting 75 lbs occasionally with team lift as needed
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines
