Position Summary Provides leadership and vision for the alignment of clinical informatics with education and training across UI Health. This role interfaces closely with the Information Services (IS) education team to ensure initial and ongoing Epic and health IT training for medical students, residents, fellows, and attending providers is effective, sustainable, and responsive to learner needs. The position also supports initiatives to enhance awareness and understanding of clinical informatics among learners, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and other health professions trainees. This role serves as a bridge between informatics, clinical leadership, and academic programs to improve provider experience and educational outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities Collaborates with the IS education team to design, evaluate,and optimize Epic and health IT training for learners at all levels. Ensures educational programs address the evolving needs ofmedical students, residents, fellows, and attending physicians/APPs. Provides clinical perspective in the design of providereducation materials and training delivery. Works with Graduate Medical Education (GME) to integrateinformatics-related training into curricula. Serves as a resource and ambassador to help learnersunderstand the role of informatics in clinical care, efficiency, and qualityimprovement. Supports the physician builder and super-user programs byconnecting them to educational needs. Promotes a culture of continuous learning and improvement intechnology use. Collaborates with informatics, IS, and academic leadershipon education-related performance strategies. Performs other duties and projects as assigned by the CMIO. Perform other related duties and participate in specialprojects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Health care professional degree (MD, DO, or Advanced Practice Provider such as NP/PA) required.
Eligible for or holding an unrestricted Illinois license to practice required.
Demonstrated experience in teaching, training, or clinical education required.
Strong communication and collaboration skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in clinical informatics or EHR optimization.
Fellowship training or certification in Clinical Informatics.
Prior leadership experience in medical education, curriculum development, or faculty development.
Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary projects and change initiatives.
