JOB DESCRIPTION S Sub - Cath/IR EP RN • Hospital Information • 17800 Kedzie Ave. Hazel Crest, IL 60429 • 30 min from Chicago • 231 Beds • No trauma designation • Teaching Hospital • General Information • Beds: 1 Cath, 1EP, 1IR, 1TEE/Cardioversion • Experience: 2 years • First-time traveler: Yes • Patient Types: • Blended lab (CCL, IR, EP) • IR Procedures: Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, embolization (UFE), IVC filter placement, SVC repair, line placement (PICC, various central lines), assist with CT biopsies, fistulas, needle aspirations, shock wave lithotripsy, some vascular cases • Cath Lab: STEMI, IABP, stage PCI • EP: Generator exchange (dual, single, leadless), Afi/A flutter ablations • Skills required • RN - function independently in cases, strong IV skills, critical care experience (preferred), knowledgeable in their skill set, able to titrate medications, cardiac rhythm interpretation • Patient Ratios: • 1:1 • Required Certifications: • RN - ACLS, BLS; BSN also required • Support on Unit • RN Coordinator • General Lead Tech • IR/Vascular Lead Tech • Cath/EP Lead Tech • Charting System/Equipment: • EPIC • laris IV Pumps • Pyxis Medication Dispensing • CV PACS • Equipment • MERGE Hemo • Phillip C-arm • Volcano • Shock Wave • Phillips Client X-ray • Floating: • Between Cath, EP, IR • Rarely will assist in OR • Designated Pre/Post team • Orientation: • Will go to a Meet and Greet- Clinical Practice Partner to gain access to systems/complete modules • Unit Manager will give access to MERGE and PACS • 1-2 days of unit orientation will depend on skill set • Scheduling: • 4 x 10h shifts • Start time: 0700-1730 • Flex, rotation schedule • Will NOT accommodate block scheduling • pprove time off up to 7 days, additional RTO email manager: Lue Lukan • No scheduled procedures on holidays • Holiday Expectations: as needed • On call: Yes • Total of 7 days/month • 1 week day call/week (Mon-Thurs) • 1 weekend/4 weeks (Fri-Sun) • Calls starts: 1530-0700 (M-F); 24H (Sat-Sun) • Response Time: 30 mins • Sleep room- must get key from manager (plan ahead of time to get key) • Other notes: • Scrub Color: provided • Parking: Free • No artificial fingernails or extenders when having direct patient care. Keep natural nail tips less than 14 inch long • Culture: large team, team oriented, travel friendly. If working in IR will feel isolated because it is not in the same area as EP and Cath Lab.
