• Level II NICU
• No trauma designation
• General Information
• Beds: 1 Lab, 3 pre and 3 post recovery bays
• Able to do simple procedures in the bay areas
• Experience: 2 years
• First-time traveler: Yes
• Patient Types:
• Traveler MUST be able to work in a blended lab - EP/IR/Cardiac Cath. They will need to float through all areas.
• Travelers do not need to have all 3 skill sets, but majority of the experience must be in one of them, preferably in IR
• IR Procedures: Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, embolization (UFE), IVC filter placement, SVC repair, line placement (PICC, various central lines), assist with CT biopsies, fistulas, needle aspirations, shock wave lithotripsy, progressive vascular limp program for lower extremity PAD
• Cath Lab: STEMI, IABP, stage PCI
• EP: Generator exchange (dual, single, leadless)
• Lowest volume of patient type at Trinity
• Skills required
• RN - function independently in cases, strong IV skills, sterile technique, critical care experience (preferred), knowledgeable in their skill set, able to titrate medications, cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Techs - must know Cath Lab and IR procedures, sterile technique is a must, able to function well in a team, strong communication skills especially with physicians, knowledgeable in aseptic technique, aware of radiation safety, able to anticipate physician's needs

• RN - ACLS, BLS; BSN also required
• Techs - BLS, ARRT, IEMA, CCI, CBT (preferred)
• Support on Unit
• RN Coordinator
• General Lead Tech
• Charting System/Equipment:
• EPIC
• Alaris IV Pumps
• Pyxis Medication Dispensing
• CV PACS
• Equipment
• MERGE Hemo
• Phillip C-arm
• Volcano
• Shock Wave
• Phillips Asurion X-ray
• Floating:
• Between Cath, EP, IR
• Rarely will assist in OR
• Core Staff will cover Pre/Post
• Orientation:
• Will go to a Meet and Greet- Clinical Practice Partner to gain access to systems/complete modules
• Unit Manager will give access to MERGE and PACS
• 1-2 days of unit orientation will depend on skill set
• Scheduling:
• 5x 8h shifts
• Start time: 0700-1530
• Flex, rotation schedule
• Will NOT accommodate block scheduling
• Approve time off up to 7 days? No, send to manager.
• No scheduled procedures on holidays
• Holiday: On call only (6 observed days: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day) - may be on call for 1 holiday per contract period
• On call: Yes - PCI and STEMI
• Total of 10-11 days/4 weeks
• 2 or more weekday call/week (Mon-Fri)
• 1 or more weekend/4 weeks (Sat-Sun)
• Calls starts: 1530-0700 (M-F); 24H (Sat-Sun)
• Response Time: 30 mins
• Sleep room- must get key from manager (plan ahead of time to get key)
