Your Role Will Involve Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering diagnostic assessments, and designing personalized care plans Identifying and managing immediate, episodic, or chronic health conditions either in partnership with physicians or independently (based on your credentials) Providing education to patients and families about prevention, health promotion, and chronic disease management Prescribing appropriate medications and therapeutic interventions in line with your scope of practice Engaging in patient follow-up and chronic care evaluations Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, cohesive care Accurately documenting all information within electronic medical records (EMR) Educational Prerequisites
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Necessary Certifications
Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Virginia National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or equivalent specialty Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or willingness to acquire within 90 days) Qualities That Make You Stand Out
