Summary

Performs repetitive production and packing operations to mass-procedure products such as preforms by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the position training program found in the plant training manual.
  • Shut down production equipment to prevent the production of defective product and place Non-Conforming Product on Hold when needed.
  • Randomly check parts produced every hour for defects (grease, flash, punctures, etc.) to meet customer specifications.
  • Place parts in specified relationships to each other and monitor flow into assembling machinery, secondary equipment, and storage containers.
  • Tend machines (e.g., presses) in the molding area according to product standards and work at different stations as needed.
  • Pack quality parts into boxes in preparation for sealing and shipping; complete daily production and scrap reports including downtime.
  • Notify the Production Supervisor and Process Technician when items do not meet quality requirements or when machinery needs repair.
  • Use calculators for production-related data; adhere to all personal protective equipment requirements; maintain housekeeping in work areas and equipment.
  • Start-up molds per setup sheets and maintain accurate daily logs of activities.
  • Make process and parameter changes to ensure high quality; adjust device and control instrument parts; start devices to test performance.

Qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; or a one-year certificate from college/technical school; or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read simple words and numbers; print and speak simple sentences.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic, rate, ratio, percent; ability to interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow written or oral instructions and solve problems with a few concrete variables.
  • Safety: Attend required Safety/OSHA training; adhere to safety rules; participate in the Amcor No Injuries Program.
  • Physical Demands: Lift/move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally; ability to stand for long periods; vision requirements including close and color vision.
  • Quality: GMP/HACCP/Food Security training required.
  • Work Environment: Exposure to moving parts; loud environment; reasonable accommodations may be provided.
