Overview
Quality Supervisor – 3rd Shift at Fanatics. This position is in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and is in person.
Shift oversight / responsibility: 1st or 2nd Shift. Regular work week is 40 hours minimum with a reasonable amount of time for lunch, not to exceed one hour without prior approval. Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as production demands. The QC Supervisor communicates and audits production WIP to ensure it meets CTQ (Critical to Quality) requirements. This role interfaces with internal product development teams and the broader manufacturing network.
Responsibilities
- The Quality Control Supervisor compiles and communicates information obtained from quality audits performed by the Quality Department to Quality Managers, manufacturing partners and the broader supply chain team.
- Communicate and audit production WIP to ensure it meets CTQ requirements.
- Coordinate and track quality-related activities across the plant, including documentation and sign-offs for components, WIP, and finished goods as they relate to quality and timing.
- Attend product walkthroughs and BOM reviews, evaluate risks to timing, and identify potential quality alerts.
- Liaise with project management to ensure manufacturing and finishing processes are on schedule and support product release dates.
- Work cross-functionally to manage on-site and in-process quality checks for all WIP and finished goods across the supply chain.
- Collaborate with operators, supervisors, line leads and other leaders to implement processes that uphold high-quality standards for each operation.
- Educate production teams on key quality attributes and their impact on the product, and assist in development of training materials and implementation.
- Support QC reporting and analytics; contribute to process improvements with input from quality data.
- Collaborate with teams to address supply chain challenges and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 5+ years of work experience in a equivalent or supervisory role, preferably in highly configurable, high-mix/low-volume manufacturing, consumer-packaged goods, and/or contract manufacturing.
- Sports trading card experience a plus
- Experience leading teams a plus
- Bi-lingual / Spanish speaking a plus
Experience and Skills
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with production
- Experience with conducting quality process audits and addressing issues in a timely manner
- Extensive experience in a manufacturing or production environment; track record of meeting quality targets (on-time delivery, utilization, efficiency, scrap) while maintaining world-class quality; lean manufacturing experience a plus
- Significant supervisory experience in a busy manufacturing setting
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies a plus
- Proven track record of maintaining quality, safety and compliance standards in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments (engineering, quality assurance, supply chain)
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Track status and coordinate the physical samples of all components and WIP; verify sign-offs.
- Deliver and archive Product/Component Binders for Fanatics Collectibles products produced in the plant.
- Coordinate, track, and deliver finished sheets to the NY office as required.
- Provide routine status/reports on quality performance and QC status through the plant.
- Attend product walkthroughs and BOM reviews; evaluate timing risks and quality alerts.
- Work with project management to ensure manufacturing and finishing processes are on schedule for product release dates.
- Manage on-site and in-process QA checks for all WIP and finished goods across the supply chain.
- Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and line leads to meet high-quality standards; partner with leaders to implement processes where needed.
- Educate production teams on key quality attributes and collaborate with Brand Team on initiatives; assist in training materials.
- Support QC reporting and analytics and participate in process improvements.
- Collaborate with Topps and Fanatics Collectibles teams to address supply chain challenges and contribute to process re-engineering through feedback.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking in the manufacturing facility.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 35 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping and kneeling to monitor machinery and inspect WIP.
- Occasional overhead and low-level material handling; exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, and strong odors.
