Description
The Behavioral Health department at NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to join their team. This position will provide clinical mental health services for all ages, with specific focus on children and adolescents. This position will also provide clinical mental health services, including conducting initial clinical interviews with children (ages 5-17) and their families to determine level of functioning and to diagnose mental and/or emotional disorders, completing diagnostic assessment reports (to include presenting problems, psychosocial and medication histories, and psychiatric diagnoses), creating treatment plans, and providing psychotherapy. Additionally, the person in this position will have an opportunity to expand competency to children five years of age and younger as part of our Early Childhood Program. Training will be provided. Candidates who are looking to serve in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) will be pleased to know that NorthPoint's score is 21. Health care providers that help underserved communities are eligible for scholarship and loan repayment programs.

In this position, you will:
Complete diagnostic assessments with all ages, with specific focus on children and adolescents. Provide direct clinical services including clinical interviews, therapies, and crisis/risk assessments. Provide general case management; prepare reports, case records, correspond as necessary clinically, and bill for services. Participate in weekly multidisciplinary staff case consultations with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health providers. Work as a member of a multidisciplinary, integrated care team consisting of medical, dental, behavioral health, and other ancillary care providers, providing both internal and external referrals for patients. Need to have:
Master's degree or higher in social work or closely related field
and
two or more years of post-master's degree experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
