Reporting Relations
Accountable and Reports to: District Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of HWH, Perishables, Store Operations and eCommerce; Night Stock Manager
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
- Makes an effort to learn customer’s names and to address them by name whenever possible.
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing items out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, noting customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers.
- Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Unloads trucks, opens containers, stocks shelves, runs overstock on risers and rotates product.
- Monitors for miss-picked items, reviews product outs, and wrong deliveries.
- Organizes stock for efficiency, cleans and restocks damaged items.
- Tags shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers.
- Reports all new or different items for input into the system.
- Maintains adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
- Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
- Reports to work as scheduled and maintains the scheduled hours.
Secondary Duties And Responsibilities
- Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Worker Characteristics
- Ability to solve practical problems; interpret instructions; handle a variety of variables with limited standardization.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing.
Education And Experience
High school or equivalent experience. Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
Physical Requirements
- Physically able to perform very heavy work; may require lifting/exerting weight as described.
- Visual requirements include various ranges of vision and depth perception.
- Physical activities include climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions
Exposed to dirt, noise, equipment movement hazards, and chemicals/solvents daily. May be exposed to temperature extremes and potential electrical shock.

Power jack, compactor, order machine, check register, forklift, scales, and Tomra machines.
