Peace Global Logistics is hiring: Forklift Mechanic in Baytown

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing forklifts and handling equipment to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to perform both routine maintenance and emergency repairs. Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on forklifts.
• Repair or replace faulty parts, including engines, brakes, steering, and electrical components.
• Conduct safety checks to ensure all equipment complies with industry safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency repair requests to minimize equipment downtime.
• Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to schedule maintenance without disrupting workflow.
• Order and manage inventory of parts and tools necessary for repairs.
• Stay updated on the latest forklift technologies and repair techniques.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanics is a plus.
• At least five years of working experience as a forklift mechanic or in a similar heavy equipment maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems related to forklifts.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
