Job Title: Quality Control Technician Job Description
As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming materials to ensure they meet company standards. You will conduct analytical tests on samples using standard methods and perform various QC tests such as Titratable Acidity, Total Salt, Viscosity, Moisture, pH, and metal detector tests. Your role will involve documenting results to ensure compliance with specifications and calibrating equipment like pH meters, weighing scales, thermometers, and viscometers. You will also monitor weights periodically and alert production teams about any non-compliance for prompt adjustment.
Responsibilities
Inspect incoming materials for conformance to company standards.
Conduct analytical tests on samples using standard methods.
Perform various QC tests including Titratable Acidity, Total Salt, Viscosity, Moisture, pH, and metal detector tests.
Document test results and ensure compliance with specifications.
Calibrate equipment such as pH meters, weighing scales, thermometers, and viscometers.
Monitor weights periodically and alert production teams on non-compliance for prompt adjustment.
Prepare flavors as per the pick list required for daily production.
Retrieve batch formulas for daily production and ensure retrieval of the previous day's formulas.
Conduct swab tests and allergen tests as per established procedures and document results.
Prepare samples and plate micro samples in the absence of a microbiologist.
Essential Skills
Competence in math and analytical calculations.
Good organization skills and detailed reporting skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Degree in a technical background in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or equivalent work experience.
Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment is an advantage.
Knowledge of Quality Control, GMP, and quality assurance in food manufacturing.
Work Environment
You will work in a lab environment within a food manufacturing company, which is extremely clean and adheres to food safety guidelines. The position involves working on the 2nd shift from 3 pm to 11:30 am, with training on the first shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm. The production floor is union-based, and the company is IFS certified. You will be part of a small group of 8 QC technicians total across different shifts. The dress code includes jeans and steel-toe boots, and protective equipment such as hairnets will be provided.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
