The MIS Department at the Eller College of Management is seeking a professional with effective communication and strong team skills to join as a Graduate Admissions Coordinator. This position will perform activities related to the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of graduate students for online programs offered by the MIS Department. Serving as the first point of contact for prospective graduate students navigating the application and admissions process, this role requires a positive attitude, exceptional customer service, and the ability to take initiative.

The role coordinates recruitment activities and application processing, and monitors progress of non-degree seeking students toward degree-seeking status. The position works closely with the MIS Student Services team and the MS Online Admissions Committee.

The Eller College of Management is a leading business school with strengths in management information systems, entrepreneurship, and social innovation, serving more than 9,000 undergraduate and 1,300 graduate students across multiple campuses and online platforms.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary point of contact for potential graduate students, responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner by email, phone, and web-based systems.
  • Maintains regular, strategic communication with prospective students through all states of the admissions funnel to encourage continued interest and application submission.
  • Effectively communicates admission requirements and procedures to a broad range of constituents.
  • Contributes to a positive, welcoming environment for prospective and current students.
  • Facilitates and coordinates application review with the Graduate Admissions Committee and communicates admissions decisions.
  • Learns and utilizes CRM software to track prospective student interactions and progress through the admissions funnel.
  • Keeps abreast of Graduate College Admission policies and procedures.
  • Uses Microsoft Excel and other software to track application status, admission decisions, and statistics.
  • Coordinates admissions data collection and submits periodic reports on graduate programs, providing input on prospective student data for department reporting.
  • Identifies innovative ways to promote master’s programs to increase interest.
  • Coordinates, conducts, and participates in virtual or in-person events such as information sessions, webinars, fairs, and other recruitment activities.
  • Assists in maintaining MIS Online Program website pages to keep information current.
  • Assists in departmental events and outreach to organizations as needed.
  • Assists the Communications and Events Coordinator with recruitment-related social media content creation.
  • Back-up coverage as needed; additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Demonstrated organizational skills, customer-centric planning, attention to detail, and openness to new approaches and ideas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced learning through professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in recruiting and/or admissions in higher education.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with prospective graduate students and university personnel in written and oral formats.
  • Experience building and managing spreadsheets in Excel.
  • Experience with university systems such as GradApp, UAccess, Slate.
  • Experience in customer service and with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
