Lead EPIC Business Intelligence (BI) Developer
plays a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is in at Union Health.
The Epic Claims Aggregation Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining accurate claim data within the Epic system, focusing on the aggregation and integrity of claims across facilities, departments, and payers. This position ensures clean claims generation, proper grouping, and submission workflows while working collaboratively with billing, compliance, and IT teams to optimize reimbursement and reduce denials.

Lead EPIC Business Intelligence (BI) Developer Details
Essential Job Duties:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the BI team in collaboration with the manager. Provides consultation and direction to team on complex problems and assists in resolving barriers. Coaches and mentors BI team. Identifies staff development and training needs. Leads report generation and analysis. Proactively identifies reports that address current and emerging needs. Routinely identify emerging issues revealed through reports for leadership review and action. Create ad-hoc reports combining data from disparate systems to meet emerging needs. Grasp of healthcare knowledge to connect data with business needs and problem solving. Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Design, develop, and maintain custom reports, extracts, and dashboards using Epic tools such as Clarity, Caboodle, Radar, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, and Crystal Reports. Build and optimize SQL queries to extract data from large, complex Epic databases. Partner with clinical, financial, and operational stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reports and analytic outputs. Monitor and improve the performance of BI solutions and troubleshoot issues with existing reports. Support data governance, metadata management, and documentation of reporting processes. Collaborate with application analysts, data architects, and database administrators to improve the data architecture and reporting environment. Provide guidance and training to end users on self-service analytics tools such as SlicerDicer and Reporting Workbench. Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational data security policies. Participate in Epic upgrades and system optimizations impacting reporting environments. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5-10 years of experience developing reports and dashboards in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and working with relational databases (especially Epic Clarity/Caboodle). Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, metrics, and data models. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Epic Clarity Data Model Certification
(e.g., Clarity Data Model - Ambulatory, Inpatient, Resolute PB/HB, Caboodle, Radar, Reporting Workbench, Crystal Reports, or SlicerDicer. etc.) Epic Caboodle Certification
or experience with Caboodle data warehouse modeling preferred. Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or other visualization tools preferred. Familiarity with ETL processes and tools such as SSIS, Informatica, or Alteryx preferred. Knowledge of population health, quality reporting, or risk analytics preferred.
