About the job Material Handler/Forklift
We are seeking a
Forklift Material Handler
to join our team! The
Forklift Material Handler
will be responsible for handling, moving, cutting, and distributing materials according to company requirements while ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment. This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols in a
manufacturing and distribution setting .
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Operate
forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and overhead cranes
to transport materials safely. Set up and operate
automatic and manual saws
to cut materials as required. Measure, inspect, and pack incoming material following established procedures. Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper material labeling and tracking. Perform
loading and unloading
of materials from trucks and staging areas. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and workflow. Maintain the work area and equipment in a
clean, safe, and orderly
condition. Follow
OSHA safety guidelines
and adhere to all company safety policies. Assist with general warehouse duties and other tasks as needed. Skills & Qualifications:
1-2 years of forklift experience required
(sit-down, stand-up, or reach truck experience a plus). Experience using
material handling equipment
such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and overhead cranes. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to read a
tape measure, calipers, and vernier
for material measurements. Basic
math and computer skills
for data entry and inventory tracking. Ability to work in a fast-paced
manufacturing or warehouse environment . Effective
communication skills
and ability to work well within a team. Must be
reliable and punctual , meeting the companys attendance standards. Education & Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution setting preferred. Knowledge of
inventory control and material handling procedures
is a plus. Certifications & Physical Requirements:
OSHA Forklift Certification is required or must be obtained upon hire. Ability to
frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Must be comfortable
standing, walking, stooping, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Ability to work in a
manufacturing and warehouse setting , with exposure to moderate noise levels.
