Position Purpose Under the direct supervision of the Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the school building and campus grounds in an orderly, neat, safe, and operable condition to support a healthy and welcoming learning environment.
Essential Job Functions Perform tasks to keep the school building and grounds clean and orderly, including clearing and disposing of trash, cleaning bathrooms and floors, washing windows, dusting furniture and fixtures, mowing grass, operating landscaping equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers), and related tasks. Maintain buildings and grounds in a safe and operable condition by making minor repairs, clearing snow and ice, and addressing safety hazards. Inspect equipment and facilities regularly, recommending repair or replacement to the supervisor. Regulate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure comfortable and efficient operation. Check and maintain building entrances and exits to ensure they are functioning properly. Open and close the building; ensure all doors and windows are locked and secured before leaving. Service and maintain motors and other mechanical equipment as scheduled. Obtain and utilize appropriate equipment, tools, and materials for assigned work. Maintain inventory of supplies, materials, equipment, and fuel; place orders as needed. Assist with deliveries brought to the school, including receiving, moving, and distributing items as directed. Prepare and maintain records to document work completed and repairs made. Assist with event set-ups, furniture moves, and special projects as required. Additional Duties

Equipment
Use a wide variety of hand tools and related power equipment, including saws, drills, routers, planers, sanders, jointers, and stationary power equipment. Operate landscaping and grounds equipment, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, snow blowers, and leaf blowers. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of fundamental tools, materials, practices, maintenance methods, and procedures in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades. Familiarity with building code standards and safety regulations. Knowledge of occupational safety and health laws and regulations. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to coordinate work effectively with others. Ability to perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Ability to troubleshoot and resolve building, electrical, or mechanical issues. Ability to maintain accurate records and report work to a supervisor. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, and the public. Ability to respond promptly to emergencies and perform on-call duties as needed. Follow all safety rules, procedures, and regulations regarding the use of tools and equipment. Wear appropriate safety gear at all times. Travel Requirements
Minimal travel; position is based at a single campus. Occasional off-site errands or supply runs may be required. Physical and Mental Demands / Work Hazards
Ability to work at heights and in crawl spaces. Exposure to risks associated with tools and equipment. Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of supplies, furniture, deliveries, and landscaping equipment (up to 50 lbs). Occasional strenuous physical work (shoveling, pushing, bending, climbing ladders, etc.). Occasional work in adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Qualifications Profile
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Successful experience in building and grounds maintenance preferred. Valid motor vehicle operator's license or reliable transportation required. Work Schedule and Employment Status
Full-time, year-round position. Some evening or weekend work may be required for emergencies, events, or weather-related needs. Must be available to respond on-call for emergency situations as required. FLSA Status:
