Industrial Maintenance Technician - Ennis, TX
Responsibilities: As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the production facility's operational efficiency. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing outside grounds maintenance and troubleshooting building systems.
Impactful Responsibilities: Operate and maintain critical infrastructure systems to ensure smooth operation. Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair utility systems such as ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, steam, water, chiller, and compressed air systems. Provide support for the operations, monitoring, and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant as necessary. Assist in the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and practices to enhance infrastructure reliability, sustainability, and reduce operational costs. Contribute to continuous improvement and 5S projects for central utility and wastewater treatment buildings. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements for ammonia refrigeration systems, prioritizing the highest level of safety. Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to manage preventative maintenance tasks, work orders, and requests. Operate building management systems (BMS) to maintain and monitor plant utility systems. Support safety initiatives and participate in behavioral-based safety observation programs. Ensure that outside service providers comply with plant GMP and safety programs. Provide hands-on peer-to-peer training on utility systems. Adhere to company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook. Qualifications:
Desired certifications in areas of responsibility such as ammonia, HVAC, and boiler operation. Minimum of 3 years of combined manufacturing/maintenance/technician experience. 3+ years of experience in ammonia refrigeration, boiler, compressed air, and water system operations, troubleshooting, and emergency protocols. Ability to interpret technical documentation including P&IDs, general layout drawings, and block flow diagrams. Basic computer skills required. Excellent communication skills. Must pass required drug screening and criminal background checks, and possess reliable transportation. Willingness to travel for periodic technical training. Must be willing to shave to meet requirements for wearing a respirator in emergency and training situations. Desired experience in industrial wastewater management. Experience in food/beverage or other FDA/USDA regulated environments preferred. Familiarity with CMMS and BMS systems.
