J ob Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, and project management. This role involves designing innovative solutions, conducting research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring projects from concept to completion. The Design Engineer will utilize various software tools and methodologies to ensure successful project execution while adhering to industry standards.

Duties

Develop and design mechanical systems and components using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other CAD software. Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues and implement effective solutions in manufacturing and construction projects. Manage project scheduling and timelines to ensure timely delivery of designs. Collaborate with engineers from various disciplines including civil engineering, quantum engineering, and systems engineering. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in the design process for automation solutions. Perform data collection and analysis to support design decisions and improvements. Create detailed schematics and documentation for all designs, ensuring compliance with GD&T standards. Engage in laboratory testing and validation of prototypes to ensure functionality and performance. Apply scripting skills in Python or C++ for automation of design processes or data analysis tasks. Conduct research on new technologies and methodologies that can enhance design capabilities. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience designing thermoformed packaging with a focus on manufacturability. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks is essential. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in mechanical design principles. Ability or willingness to design production tooling; CNC programming experience is a plus. Strong project ownership: manage projects from design through prototyping and tooling. Flexible and collaborative; willing to work on any project and support team needs. Able to meet deadlines and work within structured schedules and KPIs/ Willingness to learn Company systems, tooling standards, and ISO processes.
