Overview

Seasonal Truck Driver at CHS Inc. in Carrollton, IL. This role supports fall harvest (October–mid December), hauling fertilizer, liquid chemical, and anhydrous (if endorsements are applicable).

This position typically requires a Class A or B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements or willingness to obtain them. Work schedule is Monday–Saturday, 10–12 hour days with flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely pick up and deliveries to customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Assist with loading or unloading as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service. Greet customers promptly and courteously; respond to concerns and elevate to leadership if required.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip reporting, proper load securement, and hours of service.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle(s) inside and out and maintain the work environment.
• Complete and document daily maintenance inspections; ensure required maintenance and repairs are performed.
• Promote a strong safety culture and follow safety policies, training, PPE procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate hazards and address unsafe actions or conditions.
• Report incidents, accidents, and traffic violations to the supervisor.
• Enroll in and complete mandatory CHS random drug and alcohol testing and the Continuous Monitoring Program.
• Assist operational staff and perform other duties as needed; may include intercompany driving.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• Class A or B CDL
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English and understand highway traffic signs and signals

Additional Qualifications

• Ability to work additional hours and occasional weekends to meet business demands
• Valid Class A CDL preferred
• Hazmat, Tanker, Air Brake endorsements preferred
• Agriculture background preferred
• Customer service experience preferred
• Pre-employment screening may be required based on job requirements and industry guidelines; may include drug, criminal, motor vehicle checks, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse
