Job Description Job Title: Phlebotomist Profession: Medical Laboratory Specialty: Phlebotomy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Varied, occasional weekends Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 1 year recent phlebotomy experience required License: Healthcare Provider Level BLS required Certifications: Phlebotomist Certification preferred
Must-Have: Training in an approved Phlebotomy Training Program or one year of recent phlebotomy experience required.
Description: The laboratory teams have responsibilities for testing samples that may include blood, body fluids, and tissue to aid in the diagnosis of diseases, illnesses, or conditions that may need medical attention. Lab tests are processed for hospital inpatients and emergency room patients twenty-four hours a day. In addition, testing is performed on outpatient and clinic specimens. All labs are licensed by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and accredited by the College of American Pathologists. Those without previous hospital experience or previous Epic experience will not be considered.
