About The Position
We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in Tennessee, starting Oct 20, 2025. This role offers day shifts, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, including executing physicians orders, dispensing and administering medications, performing patient examinations and treatments
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess clinical problems and health care needs
- Record physical findings, formulate prognoses, and collaborate with physicians and health professionals to develop comprehensive patient care plans
- Recommend drugs and other forms of treatment within licensure scope
- Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and coordinate appropriate release timing
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area
- Assist with monitoring provision of all required contractual services
- Foster effective working relationships with facility staff, contract providers, and outside agencies
- Utilize established corporate, facility, and correctional policies and procedures while exercising independent judgment
- Evaluate medical services to prevent inappropriate use or duplication
- Ensure security and confidentiality of medical records and verify documentation of services provided
- Monitor potential catastrophic illnesses and recommend interventions
- Suggest methods to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness of health services
- Audit pharmacy use and ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy laws
- Observe and record inmate or resident behavior
- Accept on-call status as required
- Provide health counseling and education individually or in groups
- Interpret medical and technical procedures, governmental regulations, and process legal documents as needed
- Review and respond to lawsuits through corporate counsel and attend court hearings if necessary
- Participate in multi-disciplinary committee meetings to promote and monitor healthcare quality
- Engage in secure functions, including working rotating shifts and verifying facility security
- Evaluate and recommend safety requirements for a secure working environment
Additional Information
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with family practice training in Tennessee
- Valid drivers license required
- Minimum one year of professional nursing experience
- US Citizenship required for ICE clearance; expedited process in place
