Electric Distribution Engineer

Compensation

$100,000 to $130,000 depending on your skills and years of experience

What You’ll Do

Design and develop

electric distribution systems (both overhead and underground) for projects including feeder extensions, voltage conversions, automation, preventative maintenance, and DER (distributed energy resource) interconnections. Apply client-specific guidelines, safety codes (such as

NESC ), and industry standards to produce high-quality design documents. Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors to review

equipment specifications , and assist clients in developing construction standards, design criteria, and material specifications. Serve in an

Owner’s Engineer

capacity, reviewing engineering deliverables and ensuring they meet quality, safety, and project requirements. Manage multiple project timelines , working closely with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and maintain consistency through QA/QC and document control processes. Support construction planning by providing technical insight and responding to real-time field conditions. Ensure all designs align with

regulatory, planning, and environmental

requirements. What You Bring

A strong foundation in electric distribution design and utility standards. Knowledge of

low, medium, and high voltage

applications. Familiarity with industry software such as

AutoCAD, Civil 3D, O-Calc, and PLS-CADD

(preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Smartsheet) and Adobe Acrobat. Exceptional organizational skills and a

detail-oriented approach

to your work. Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors. The ability to manage priorities, work independently, and deliver quality work across multiple projects. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in

Electrical, Civil, or a related Engineering field . 2+ years

of engineering experience in the utility, consulting, or energy industry. Completion of the

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)

exam preferred, with an interest in pursuing P.E. licensure. What We Offer

This position is primarily office-based:

Ability to remain in a seated position for extended periods. Regular use of a computer and office equipment. Frequent communication with coworkers and clients. Occasional movement within the office to access files or equipment.
