This role is part of RS Americas corporate team, in support of a location that receives, stores and maintains 275,000 stocked products, and processes and dispatches all customer orders that originate in North America.

About the Role

Role Purpose

Under the guidance of the Sr. Trade Compliance Manager, the Trade Compliance Supervisor leads the daily enforcement of export and import laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role oversees a team of Trade Compliance Specialists, ensuring consistent application of procedures, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining world-class compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of Trade Compliance Specialists, managing workloads, performance reviews, and professional development Review and clear Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) errors, warnings, and holds; administer FTZ processes and documentation Oversee analysis of Customs and Participating Government Agency (PGA) regulations to determine the most appropriate release procedures for orders and product lines Ensure compliance with Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duty cases under International Trade Administration rules Lead the sales and delivery order review process, including denied party screening, embargo checks, red-flag resolution, dual-use item controls, ITAR classification, end-use/end-user validation, and completeness of export data Manage preparation and submission of DDTC (ITAR) and BIS (EAR) export license applications Drive proactive collection of missing import/export data early in the transaction lifecycle to minimize delays and non-compliance risks Serve as the primary escalation point for internal and external inquiries related to trade compliance "Red Flags" Maintain deep expertise in evolving trade compliance laws and regulations; design and deliver ongoing training sessions for the team Oversee export operations processes, including AES filings, commercial invoices, and Shipper's Letters of Instruction Supervise department's use of Internal Ticket system to handle order cancellations, certificate requests (CoO/FTA), classification documentation, and other customer inquiries Collaborate with customs brokers and logistics partners to troubleshoot import shipment issues Partner with the Credit Department to review SIFT order blocks and screen new customer accounts Essential Skills & Experience

High school diploma or GED required Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred 3+ years of progressive trade compliance experience, including U.S. Customs regulations, FTZs, USMCA, Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and other FTAs, C-TPAT, HTS/ECCN/USML classifications and tariffs Demonstrated supervisory or team-lead experience Intermediate proficiency with SAP and E2Open Trade Automation system (preferred) Daily use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, internal stakeholders, external customers, and government agencies
