Burrow Global is seeking to hire a
Mechanical Engineering Manager
for our Beaumont, TX office. Candidates will take on a leadership role in the development and execution of mechanical engineering projects. This position requires extensive experience and expertise in mechanical equipment design, process piping systems, and the application of industry standards and codes. You will oversee complex projects from the early FEL (Front End Loading) stages through detailed design, manage RFQs, and make critical decisions in equipment selection and design for refineries, chemical, and process plants. This position also includes leadership and supervision of the mechanical engineering department comprised of other mechanical engineers who would report directly to you in this role. Your leadership will help drive project success, mentor junior engineers, and ensure that Burrow Global continues to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects
with a focus on equipment design and process piping system engineering during both FEL and detailed design stages. Prepare and review
equipment data sheets, RFQs, bid tabulations , and
RFPs
for mechanical and rotating equipment. Demonstrate a strong command of rotating and static equipment specifications and ensure all equipment selections meet project requirements. Oversee
piping stress analysis
for complex systems, ensuring designs comply with project and industry standards. Apply expertise in
ASME, API, ANSI, PIP, ASHRAE, ASTM, TEMA, AWS, MSS-SP, OSHA, and NACE codes , ensuring compliance throughout all phases of the project. Conduct
process studies, research investigations , and draft reports within defined scopes to provide insightful recommendations and optimizations. Manage and coordinate the work of mechanical engineering teams, supporting personnel, and technicians. Develop and implement action plans to improve project workflows and optimize efficiency within the team. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity in project goals and deliverables. Ensure compliance with
health, safety, and environmental regulations , contributing to a cohesive and safety-conscious team environment. Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
or a related field is required. Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience
in mechanical engineering, with an emphasis on equipment design, process piping, and stress analysis in refineries, chemical, or process plants. U.S. Citizenship, valid Employment Authorization Documents (EAD), or Permanent Residency required (visa sponsorship unavailable). Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with
mechanical equipment design and engineering , including
equipment selection
and preparation of purchasing packages. Proficiency in the use of
engineering design software
and
piping stress analysis tools . Experience in applying
industry-wide codes and guidelines
such as ASME, API, ANSI, PIP, and more. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
or a related technical field. Professional Engineer (PE) license
is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in
piping stress analysis , and
