We are seeking an Experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Perth (Malaga, WA). This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial management of a well-established retail and manufacturing group.

This is a full-time opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable person.

Annual Salary Package: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Finance Manager with the development of budgetary frameworks and accounting policies by providing input, preparing drafts and advising on relevant matters.
  • Drafting financial statements for submission to boards of directors, management teams, shareholders, and statutory/regulatory authorities.
  • Carrying out financial investigations, compiling detailed reports, undertaking audits, and providing advice on matters including business acquisitions and sales, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency and taxation.
  • Analysing operating costs as well as the company’s income and expenditure.
  • Reviewing and ensuring financial reports are accurate and comply with statutory requirements.
  • Advising on financial and taxation matters related to business structures, strategic plans, and operational activities.
  • Preparing taxation returns for the company.
  • Coordinating with financial institutions to maintain and optimize internal funds management and account operations.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining accounting systems, including advice on selecting and applying computer-based accounting platforms.
  • Overseeing and maintaining internal control systems.
  • Assessing cash flow and financial risks in any investment projects.

Experience & Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Holds at least a relevant Bachelor degree (or higher)
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation, and compliance
  • Previous experience in retail or manufacturing sectors is desirable
