Senior Staff Accountant | Hybrid in NYC. Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is partnering with a national nonprofit organization named one of the Top 50 Nonprofits to Work For to identify a Senior Staff Accountant for their NYC-based finance team. Base pay range
$96,000.00/yr - $102,000.00/yr

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of progressive experience in GL accounting or financial analysis
• Familiarity with ASC 606 and/or ASC 842 is a plus
• Strong Excel skills and comfort navigating reconciliations and financial systems
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid setting

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting
• Manage intercompany reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and fund transfers
• Support budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis and explanations for leadership
• Oversee project time tracking allocations across subsidiaries
• Ensure revenue recognition compliance (ASC 606) and participate in contract review
• Assist with audits, general ledger maintenance, and T&E reporting (Ramp)
• Provide oversight and support to bookkeepers on daily transactions and reconciliations
• Maintain balance sheet accounts, prepaids, accruals, and detailed backup
